38 weeks and 3 days along, 6 days to go

Posted by Ashley Goode

Here is a new belly pic since it has been a bit since I posted one. We are getting induced in 6 days, so I will have Shawn take the "final" one before we head to the hospital that morning. :)

8 days to go!!!

Well, here we are in the home stretch and just basking in the final glow of pregnancy. :P Yeah right!! Shawn and I are both counting down the seconds until our daughter finally makes her arrival. He has been walking me around Mountain Home like crazy and when the weather is bad we run laps around Walmart until my feet swell out of my shoes. Sleeping is not the easiest thing to do right now and rolling me over is like moving a house. :P Well, at least I feel like a house but Shawn says I'm not that big. He has to say nice things though right?

Eva is doing well and is being monitored twice weekly by the doctors here on base. We have two more days of testing and then our final appointment next Wednesday to get induced. Nana comes in the same day and hopefully Eva will come not too long after she arrives.

We hope everyone is doing well and I will try and get a picture up of my about to burst belly within the next week. Lots of love to everyone!!! :)

18 days to go!!!

We had another follow up with Dr. Pittard yesterday and everything seems to be going along smoothly. I measured in at 36cm and Eva's heart rate was 135 while in his office. We began the NST testing and will have to go in for that twice a week at the Family Care Unit. (where Eva will be born) Everyone is super nice in there but they can never locate me in the computer system, this has been going on for over a year now so we are used to it. We actually went and spoke with the lady in charge of the computer systems at the hospital and she routed our case to Texas where they should be able to finally take care of it. Fingers crossed for that because Shawn and I are both tired of people saying, "Have you been seen here before?"

As far as the NST testing, they just strap me in and monitor mine and Eva's vitals for about 20 minutes or so. They want to make sure my blood pressure and everything stays stable and that Eva has the normal increases and decreases with her heart rate and that she is moving around well. The nurses gave me 2 cans of juice yesterday to get my blood-sugar up and get Eva going. (Apparently she isn't the most cooperative little girl)  :)

Shawn and I have been doing lots of walking and cleaning trying to get me going into labor, but no such luck yet.  I have had a lot of pretty strong contractions and cramping but nothing regular yet. We are hoping she will decide to come on her own in the next 18 days but if not we will meet our baby soon enough.

We hope that everyone has been doing well and that you are all ready to welcome Spring!!! I know that we are!!! Lots of love until next time. :)

An overwhelming 35 week appointment

Posted by Ashley Goode

Well, we had our 35 week appointment this morning and first thing the doc says was, "You're doing so well that we don't feel you need to be induced." At that point the panic spiral started and the tears began to well up in my eyes. All I could think was Shawn isn't going to see Eva before he leaves and I couldn't hide the look of defeat on my face. So I explained, as calmly as I could, the situation Shawn and I are in right now and let Dr. Pittard know that April 7th is when Shawn is leaving for a year. So Dr. Pittard explained all of the cons of an early induction and agreed to still do it on March 31st. Phew!!! Crisis averted, and then more news that scared me....
Apparently Little Eva has dropped from the 51st percentile to the 29th, and although doc says that is ok in his book it still bothers me. I have measured in at 34cm my last two appointments and I guess it makes me feel like I am failing in some way or another. Eva's heart rate was good and everything else is moving right along. We begin  weekly appointments from this week on and begin the antenatal testing with our next appointment until induction day. Apparently the testing is twice a week and that includes going to the FCU for the testing and then seeing the doc afterward in the women's clinic. We have lots and lots of appointments these next couple of weeks.

Shawn's last day of work is tomorrow and then next week we have at least one, if not multiple, appointments everyday. He is having to out-process the base and we are having to get things like legal documents and doggy vaccines out of the way before he leaves. TMO is coming in two weeks to come and pick up the things he will be taking with him for his year-long stay in Korea.

There are just too many life changing events happening all at the same time and we are both beginning to feel the pressure of it all. Less than 4 weeks until the birth of our daughter and less than 5 weeks until the love of my life is gone for longer than I even care to think about.

Sorry about the blog update with the blues. I hope everyone is doing well and ready to welcome Spring!!

We had some pictures done professionally to document the HUGE belly that I seem to have now. :) There is one more in the group but it is too big to fit into my scanner properly so if you come visit, you get to see it. :) Not much for news at this time, just hoping Miss Eva will decide to come a bit early for everyone. I want her to be able to spend as much time as possible with her Daddy before he leaves and all they have is webcamming together. Our next doc visit will be next week and I will update again at that point!!! Only 33 days left until induction day!!!!

Almost 34 week ultrasound :)

Posted by Ashley Goode

We had an ultrasound this morning and figured out the mystery of the "bulge" under my ribs, it is Eva's cute lil' bum!!! It doesn't feel so good when it's pushing everything here and there but at least the mystery is solved. It looks like she may have my big toes as well, uh-oh!!! Its not like they are ugly, they are just huge!!!! Shawn tells me I have monkey toes, so it looks like Eva might be my little baby monkey. :) When she is old enough she will have pretty toenails to paint and make her Grandma Duree very proud!! If there is one thing my mom taught me, it was to always have my toenails painted, no matter how bad I feel. Oh, and excess polish comes off the skin in the shower!!! No worries!!!

Lots of love to my family today, and to Mom who would have been 52 years young with beautiful toes!!!

We're officially scheduled to be induced!!!

Posted by Ashley Goode

We had our 32 week appointment today and everything is looking great!!! Eva is in the 51st percentile for her size which is perfect!! :) Not too big and not too small. My blood pressure is normal, no weight gain this month, and we are measuring in at 31cm. We are on the books for induction on March 31st. We could have scheduled it for the 30th but then we would have had to see a different doctor and we love Dr. Pittard so we decided to stick with him. Eva could possibly be an April Fool's Baby!!! We have an ultrasound next week and our next checkup 3 weeks from today, so the end is very near!!!!

Shawn should have the date he is leaving any day now and his orders to Korea are on their way. Hopefully he will be done with work here at the beginning of March and then we will have some extra time to accomplish some things around the house that need to get done.

We hope everyone is doing well and will be enjoying a lovely Valentine's Day!!! Oh, and Happy Birthday to my brother Bryan too!!!!!

32 weeks and 7 to go

Posted by Ashley Goode

Well we are 32 weeks along and I am feeling a bit like a bus right now. Little Miss Eva is quite active and just moves all day long but is pretty still while I sleep, so maybe we are on the same schedule. I can only hope she'll sleep at night when she finally arrives, right? What news do I have right now? Hmmm..

Well Shawn only has about a month left at work here and then he should be on leave for about a month before he goes. So hooray for that! And boo for him leaving! Nana will be here the 31st of March and hopefully Eva will be here by then since they are inducing on the 30th. Auntie Vee is coming April 7th and Shawn will probably be leaving around then, so there will be lots of comings and goings. We are set and ready for Eva to be here and everything is in place except for my brain recently. :P

Here is a picture from today and I am all gussied up in my pajamas, so hopefully this satisfies everyone who has been asking!!!! I am large!!!!!!!  Shawn agreed to a pic of him in his pj's just to make me feel better, he is the greatest husband!!!

Our latest news from the doctor

Posted by Ashley Goode

Well, we had our 28 week appointment and all is looking well. Our tests for gestational diabetes and anemia were negative and everything else is going along well. She measured in at 28cm at 28 weeks, which is right on track, her heart rate was 145 bpm, and I am putting on weight just as I should be. The doctor said that we are definitely going to be induced at 39 weeks and that will put us at March 30th. So hopefully Shawn will have a good week with Eva before he has to leave to Korea. The doc told us that we will begin antenatal testing at 32 weeks, twice a week, until she is born to keep a close eye on her due to my chronic hypertension and her being conceived via IVF. Both of those put us in the high risk pregnancy category and hopefully that just means they will keep a close eye on her until she gets here and there will be zero complications. I do believe that is all the news we have for now!! 10 more weeks until the big day!!! Wow!

Happy New Year!!

Posted by Ashley Goode

Well here is my 28 week picture and yes I am still growing!! Little Eva is over 2 pounds now and utilizing all of my energy for herself it seems. We have 12 weeks to go until our due date but probably less until she gets here since they plan on inducing early. Time has flown by and in some ways I hope it continues to do so but as far as Shawn leaving I wish time would just stop. He is leaving in about 12 weeks and will be gone for a year with one 30 day break at 6 months. Its going to be hard without him here and I know its going to be especially difficult for him since he won't be here for the first year of our daughter's life. Thus is the life of a military family!!!!
